Situated in Munich’s Westend, mokum marks a beginning for both the team and Studio J.Braunfels. A space shaped by values that place meaning, simplicity and human connection at the centre of the experience.
The interior reflects Studio J. Braunfels‘ commitment to authenticity, tactile materials and spatial clarity. The design follows a clear, restrained language, guided by one idea: to create different zones within a single room, each offering comfort, intimacy and quiet presence. At the heart of the space stands the bar, opening a direct view into the kitchen and establishing both a visual and emotional connection to the team behind the food.
Warm materials like clay wall finishes and smoked oak meet cooler contrasts of stainless steel and clean lines. Subtle, thoughtful details bring softness and depth without distraction.
The atmosphere unfolds through textured surfaces, natural light and calm transitions – not to stage the space, but to let it breathe. Each table offers a slightly different rhythm, always centered on human presence and experience.
