DESIGNING QUIET ARCHITECTURE.

DESIGNING QUIET ARCHITECTURE.

Interior Architecture & Spatial Concepts

Studio J. Braunfels is a spatial design practice shaped by a deep sensitivity to material, proportion and atmosphere. Founded by Julia Braunfels on the belief that architecture should offer quiet presence rather than visual noise, the studio approaches interior spaces as frameworks for clarity, calm and human connection.

Each project is treated as a composition - measured, minimal and intentionally restrained -  allowing materials, light and spatial rhythm to unfold with purpose. Rather than decorating spaces, we aim to construct environments that hold meaning: silent structures that support everyday life with dignity and depth.

Our work spans residential, hospitality and brand contexts, engaging closely with clients who value authenticity, refinement and long-term resonance. Through thoughtful dialogue and careful calibration, we shape spaces that feel lived, not styled.

About Julia Braunfels

Julia Braunfels is an interior architect with a background in high-end brand, hospitality  and residential projects. She began her career at Lambs & Lions in Berlin, where she worked on early hospitality concepts and gained experience across all project phases – from concept to construction.

At 1zu33 in Munich, she served as Senior Architect and Creative Lead on a range of brand and residential projects, most notably for Gaggenau, where she helped shape the brand’s international spatial identity. Her work combines architectural clarity with refined minimalism, spanning hospitality, retail and private residential environments.
